Get Your Stuff Organized
Step 4 - Renaming files |
| Once again, logical file names are critical to
your success as an efficient geek-like computer whiz. If you don't like your original file name
for whatever reason, you can rename it later. That goes for folders also. |
| There are several ways to rename files. I'll show you a couple ways that I do it
here. You can rename files from your file/open dialog box, or you can click
directly into a folder by going to My Documents or My Computer. |
| Renaming a file using the file/open dialog box: |
Go to File/Open. In the dialog box, move your mouse above
the file name. |
Right-click on the file name. |
You can now get into the file
name and rename it. Once you're done,
just hit Enter. |
| Renaming a file by clicking into My Documents or
My Computer: |
Simply click into My Documents or
My Computer and find your file.
Rename it in the same fashion as above. |
I'm sure there's many more ways
to rename a file. For example, you
don't really have to right click. If
you click into the name, you can edit the name without opening the file. But 2 ways is enough for now! |
